Training packages
Public Safety Training Package (PUA00)

Government Skills Australia is continuing the review of the Public Safety Training Package, with an intention to submit a new version (version 8) for endorsement in early 2010.

Tasks to be completed during the review include:

  • updating imported units of competency
  • developing revised and new units of competency relating to operations, industry wide search and rescue, specialist aquatic and alpine, and emergency management
  • revising and creating new units and qualifications in policing
  • adding new units and qualifications and deleting some redundant qualifications for state emergency services
  • rationalising first aid units across the Public Safety Training Package and the Health Training Package (HLT07).
